1. Negotiate the drop and use the steepest part of the wave to propel you out in front of the wave.
2. Anticipate where the wave will be throwing out and focus on that spot while you start leaning into your toeside rail. Bottom turn in front of the rebounding lip.

3. Do a check turn midway up the face to burn off some speed and begin applying pressure to the tail of your board.

4. Let the wave catch up to you and use your back hand to orient yourself close to the wave face.
5. Slow your progression by putting more pressure on the tail.
6. Focus on the lip line and where it’s going to throw and transfer weight to your front leg if a section is developing far down the line.
7. Creedle in the tube. You¿ve done all of the minute adjustments to set up for this enclosure in an alien atmosphere, so enjoy the fleeting seconds that we spend our lives trying to find.
8. Keep focused on the open circle that will serve as your exit.
9. Make sure that circle doesn’t get too small, and allow the speed that you’ve gained by riding through the barrel to shoot you out onto the shoulder.
